about the project

Gracias a La Vida: Latina Voices is a Girl Scout Gold Award created to empower the Latinx community within my hometown neighborhood of South Pasadena in the hopes to celebrate Latinx culture. Through conducting various interviews, I have written down the oral histories and biographical life stories of these beautiful, bold and strong Latinas.

what is a Gold Award Project?

The Gold Award is the highest achievement one can obtain as an Ambassador Girl Scout. The service project entails at least 80 hours of time invested, along with a counsel committee approval and support from community partners. The project is meant to tackle an issue in one’s community, develop a plan, and implement a team to create sustaining and lasting change.
